EVENT DESCRIPTION
 
As a school staff member who works closely with students every day, you may be aware of a student or group of students who are engaging in Volatile substance Use (VSU).
 
You may really want to understand their situation and help make a difference but simply don’t know what to do.
 
This workshop provides information about volatile substances and VSU.
 
It will assist you to respond appropriately when you are concerned about Volatile Substance Use by students in your school community.
 
OUTCOMES
 
  • LEARN about VSU.
  • DESCRIBE some of the impacts of VSU on the brain and body.
  • EXPLORE the reporting processes available to school staff; and
  • CONSIDER how your school can respond to VSU as part of a broader community response. 
 
All costs are covered through funding from the Mental Health Commission.
 
  • There is no registration fee.
  • Teacher relief payment is provided if required.
